January 2018 was our last blog update!

In that time so much has happened, which explains why we have neglected to update our blog for so long.bty

The year started with us changing from having everything in 20ft storage containers, we had 3 of them, to having our own warehouse.

The early parts of the year involved lots of shelving and organisation, but boy did we notice the difference! Preparing for bookings was suddenly a whole lot easier and we had space to move again.

We then decided that the time was right for a second van, so in April our silver high roof and long wheelbase Peugeot Boxer arrived to join our Vauxhall Vivaro (also silver) and again they made things much easier for us. Previously we had hired additional vans when needed, but when we compared how much we spent hiring verus the cost of leasing a second van it made sense to get another one! Shortly after it arrived we got it sign written and we had our ‘fleet’ (nicknamed the silver arrows).

32087289_970185313186175_8396845931957321728_nBookings had been coming in thick and fast and we were now rapidly approaching the busy season.

The year before we did almost everything ourselves, with the occasional ad hoc helpers, but there was no way we could do that again. After receiving many applications and conducting interviews and trials we were please to employ Tom. What a star he was, turning up on time every day, never complaining if the day overran (although he complained about horse flies, he really didn’t like them!) and most importantly taking some of the physical load from us. Tom is on the left in the photo.

There is so much more to tell, but we might leave that for another day.

Instead what we want to do is say thank you to the people and businesses that have helped us with the all the bits that you don’t see! The key to running a business is good relationships with other businesses, you cannot do everything yourself.
